To the Dads of Preschoolers...We See You!

There's something truly special about the preschool dads. Maybe it's the way they show up, hair a little tousled, coffee in hand, still managing to remember the nap blanket and that it's water day. Maybe it's how they wrestle a toddler into sneakers while reciting the morning mantra: “We don't want to be late for circle time!" Whatever it is, we notice.
At Little Learning Academy, we've watched dads crouch down to zip jackets, give pep talks in the parking lot, and stand frozen offering hugs when their little one clings a little tighter that day. We've seen the quiet ones, the silly ones, the first-time dads, and the seasoned pros. And while each of you does it differently, one thing stays the same: your love speaks loudly.
We know preschool can feel like uncharted territory. There's glitter. There are feelings. There are lots (and lots) of questions.
Like:
“Why is the moon out during the day?”
“How many minutes until you pick me up?”
“Can you make my hair like ____ today?”
And somehow, you meet it all with a sense of curiosity, effort, and more patience than you probably thought you had. You're not just helping your child through a routine; you're helping them feel safe, loved, and seen. Dads of sons and daughters alike are showing up with tenderness and strength, and we want to say this clearly: We are so grateful for you!!!
Your child notices how you listen. How you kneel down and meet their eyes. How you take their stories seriously, even the ones that involve flying cats, unicorns, and invisible dragons. These early years are full of growth, wonder, and wobbly transitions, and having you in them makes all the difference.
So, whether you're the dad who packs the lunch, styles the hair, volunteers for events, or simply shows up with love at drop-off and pick-up, thank you.
You are a vital part of our school family. We see you. We appreciate you. And your child feels it.
